Nestled in the foothills east of Sacramento, our hospital’s origins date back to the 1960s with the opening of Twin Lakes Hospital – a 30-bed facility later acquired by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1989, responding to the growing needs of area families, we opened a new 95-bed hospital – today’s Mercy Hospital of Folsom.
The mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy continue to be a large part of what makes Mercy Folsom unique. As the primary healthcare resource for more than 120,000 residents in Folsom and the surrounding foothill communities, with expectations of a 50% growth over the next decade, Mercy Folsom has become an integral part of the area, growing along with the families we serve.
Community outreach and support are a big part of the Mercy Folsom culture. We provide free and low-cost community education resources on topics ranging from heart health to nutrition to parenting. We collaborate with the City of Folsom on community events and we’re fortunate to have the City’s support on major initiatives like our expanded Emergency Pavilion, currently under construction.
