Mercy Hospital of Folsom is a smoke-free campus, because we care about the health of our community members, our employees, and creating an enhanced healing environment for our patients.
Smoke-Free Policy
Smoking is not allowed on any hospital property or grounds. This policy applies to employees, physicians, visitors, patients, vendors and volunteers. People who smoke need to refrain or leave the hospital campus to smoke.
This Policy is About Where People Smoke
The issue is not about whether individuals choose to smoke, it is about WHERE they smoke. It's not taking away the choice to smoke, nor does it mandate that individuals quit smoking. It states that smoking is not permitted on the hospital campus.
We Want to Help
To support individual’s efforts to quit smoking, Mercy regularly offers Smoking Cessation courses. Visit Classes and Events, then click on “Classes” and look under “Smoking Cessation.”
The Smoking Cessation class focuses on helping participants break the smoking habit, as that habit represents the single most important step smokers can take to enhance the length and quality of their lives. The class provides motivation and gives participants a variety of options and resources to help them get the help they need. Topics also include: identifying smoking triggers, health risks, steps to quitting, nutrition and weight management and smoking cessation aids that can help smokers quit for good.
