Angela was born via emergency c-section by Dr. Ruth Haskins on Christmas Eve 2002. Her birth was not planned for that day and we were quite scared. The nurses and doctors were fantastic and worked so hard to calm us and make sure we were happy and comfortable. They even provided meals for my husband when he stayed with me.
Angela started having trouble after birth. She had infection and could not breath or feed well, so she was transferred to the NICU at Mercy San Juan. Before she went, the nurses at Mercy Folsom found the cutest Christmas hat for her and they made sure it was sent with us.
We never have forgotten how kind everyone was at Mercy Folsom.
We later learned our daughter had Down syndrome and a heart defect. The nurses at Mercy Folsom took such wonderful care of her. They never treated her as if she had something wrong, but they took care of her as if she was like any other patient.
