Post Critical Care/Telemetry Unit
Preconstruction work has begun on the second phase of Mercy’s expansion, a 21-bed Post Critical Care/Telemetry Unit. This unit will feature special monitoring equipment for each bed, allowing staff to monitor patients’ heart rhythms around the clock. It will be located in the space beneath the newly completed Cummings Emergency Pavilion.
Architectural plans have been submitted to the Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development for review and approval. Mercy anticipates the review will be complete in Fall 2008. Construction will begin once the approval is received. When the 21-bed is completed in 2009, Mercy Folsom will have 106 acute care beds.
